General Information
Carers Oxfordshire has built a national reputation for reaching and supporting carers in innovative ways.
Pippa Kelly is an award-winning blogger, journalist and author. She writes regularly in the national press and specialist publications about dementia, with which her mother lived for a decade, and elderly care issues. Pippa is an inspirational public speaker.
We have kind permission of both Pippa and Carers Oxfordshire to share Pippa’s talk about the long distance caring she shared with her siblings. This frank and personal account offers support as well as good advice on Continuing care allowance, Power of Attorney and in home care. Pippa talks about guilt, frustration and exhaustion as she moved her parents from their family home and into a ‘more suitable flat’ How they did it and how it made her feel. At the time Seniors Helping Seniors was not available in her parents town but happily we have now opened in Surrey (December 2017)!
